Ed Felten is one of the co-founders of Arbitrum (ARB), the Ethereum layer-2 scaling solution developed by Offchain Labs. He is a respected computer scientist and professor of computer science and public affairs at Princeton University, where his research has focused on computer security, cryptography, and technology policy.
Before founding Offchain Labs in 2018, Felten served as the Chief Technologist at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and later as Deputy U.S. Chief Technology Officer in the Obama administration. With his strong academic and policy background, he played a key role in shaping Arbitrum’s technical vision and ensuring it was both scalable and secure. Alongside co-founders Steven Goldfeder and Harry Kalodner, Felten helped position Arbitrum as one of the leading rollup-based solutions for Ethereum scaling.
