Steven Pu is the co-founder of Taraxa, a high-performance Layer-1 blockchain focused on trust in informal data. He holds both undergraduate and master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. Before starting Taraxa in 2018, Steven launched several ventures in IoT and mobile healthcare. He also served as a Partner at Monitor Deloitte. There, he led the digital strategy division, driving hundreds of millions in value for Fortune 500 companies.
Steven brings a rare blend of technical and strategic expertise to blockchain. He co-authored Next Blockchain with Makoto Yano, Japan’s vice-minister for economics and trade. This work cemented his role as a thought leader in global Web3 innovation. Under Steven’s leadership, Taraxa became the world’s only PoS, EVM-compatible Layer-1 built on blockDAG. It achieves 5,000 TPS, 3.7s true finality, and sub-second block times. Since its 2023 mainnet launch, Taraxa has grown rapidly across DeFi and Social AI.
Steven’s vision for Taraxa centers on transparency, speed, and real-world use. With a focus on scalable infrastructure and reputation-based systems, he continues to push boundaries in blockchain design.
