Akave Cloud launched on July 9, becoming the first decentralized storage network on a dedicated Avalanche Layer 1 (L1) blockchain. It targets high-demand use cases like decentralized AI, DePIN (Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks), and compliance-driven SaaS platforms.
The network uses Avalanche’s fast, EVM-compatible infrastructure. All storage activity—uploads, downloads, and access controls—runs through smart contracts. This ensures verifiable audit trails and removes the need for central storage providers.
Akave encrypts all data on the client side before it leaves the user’s device. Every storage action—save, retrieve, delete—logs to the blockchain. Users get full control and on-chain proof of integrity.
It also supports an S3-compatible API, letting teams switch from AWS or other cloud tools with little to no code changes. Migration is simple using tools like Rclone.
Akave combines fast-access storage on Avalanche with cold storage on Filecoin. This setup reduces costs while keeping performance high.
Akave claims up to 80% savings over traditional cloud services. There are no egress fees and hosted options reduce infrastructure overhead. It offers 99.999999999% durability and 99.9% uptime—good enough for enterprise-level use.
It also integrates with Snowflake, letting analytics teams run queries with familiar tools. Through its MCP server, users can even interact with data using LLMs like ChatGPT and Claude.ai.
Akave chose Avalanche for its speed, sub-second finality, and support for custom blockchains. Avalanche’s Subnets allow Akave to launch “sovereign data zones” for regional compliance while staying connected to the larger network.
Big players like Citi, FIFA, and the California DMV already use Avalanche for tokenization, fan engagement, and title management.
The AVAX token is seeing momentum ahead of a possible spot ETF decision from the SEC on July 15. Its market cap recently hit $8.23 billion.
Akave lets anyone contribute spare storage, compute, or bandwidth by running nodes. Early adopters include Intuizi, The Defiant, and Heurist.ai, who use the platform for secure and compliant data management.
With growing demand for decentralized infrastructure, Akave is positioning itself as a core layer for the next generation of AI and Web3 apps.
