Avalanche and Filecoin Launch Cross-Chain Storage Integration for Enterprise Data
Avalanche and Filecoin launch a cross-chain data bridge enabling enterprises to store KYC, logs, and historical data on Filecoin. The initiative boosts verifiability and scalability for Web3 builders.
June 20, 2025 – Avalanche and Filecoin have launched a new cross-chain data integration that enables enterprises building on Avalanche to store KYC records, logs, and historical data on Filecoin’s verifiable storage network. The collaboration between Ava Labs and Filecoin Foundation introduces a native bridge between Avalanche C-Chain and Filecoin via the Filecoin Virtual Machine (FEVM), targeting scalable enterprise use cases.
The initiative addresses growing demand from Web2 enterprises and traditional financial markets for verifiable, decentralized data infrastructure to complement high-speed blockchain execution.
How the Cross-Chain Storage Bridge Works
The integration allows data generated on Avalanche C-Chain to be offloaded to Filecoin for immutable, cryptographically verified storage — reducing the load on Avalanche’s performance layer. The storage architecture operates through Autonomous Verifiable Services (AVSs) on EigenLayer and includes:
Avalanche smart contracts triggering storage on Filecoin
Continuous verification using Content Identifier (CID) commitments
Storage proofs relayed back to Avalanche
Payment processed on Avalanche, released upon proof of storage
The system was implemented by FIL-B and FilOz as a prototype, now available to builders for live testing.
Key Benefits for Builders
Proven data verifiability: Filecoin’s cryptographic proofs ensure stored data remains unchanged over time
Compliance-grade retention: Enterprises can store KYC, logs, and audits immutably, meeting regulatory needs
Cost optimization: C-Chain projects can reduce on-chain data costs by offloading archival data
Cross-chain interoperability: The modular architecture enables easy integration across ecosystems
Market access: Avalanche builders can leverage Filecoin’s decentralized storage; Filecoin providers gain new revenue channels
Enterprise Demand Driving the Collaboration
“This collaboration introduces a modular framework for verifiable, cost-efficient data storage that complements Avalanche’s high-performance execution environment,” said Cliff Yeo, Head of Singapore at Ava Labs.
“By enabling developers to offload and validate data through decentralized infrastructure, we’re advancing the tooling required to build scalable, multi-chain applications with enterprise-grade reliability.”
Marta Belcher, president and chair of Filecoin Foundation, added: “This integration brings together the strengths of Avalanche and Filecoin to build interoperable and decentralized infrastructure tailored to capture high-value enterprise use cases. It’s a major step toward re-architecting web infrastructure to meet today’s rapidly expanding data demands.”
Ecosystem Context
Filecoin offers a decentralized peer-to-peer network for file storage, backed by economic incentives to ensure data reliability
Avalanche is a low-latency blockchain known for ultra-fast execution and support for sovereign L1 blockchains
The combined architecture is positioned to support the needs of sectors such as finance, gaming, and enterprise IT as they migrate to Web3
Developers can access the project demo and GitHub resources for implementation.

@Filecoin @avax @AbsGMCrypto look at $FIL being the data vault for Blockchain! Love to see it.
"Enterprises building on Avalanche (@avax) can now store KYC records, logs, and historical data on Filecoin, where it’s saved immutably, backed by cryptographic proofs, and kept off-chain to avoid putting extra load on Avalanche’s performance layer. https://t.co/eLjNRQb2yz"— @
