30th December 2025 – BlackRock’s tokenized fund, BUIDL, has officially crossed $100 million in lifetime dividend payouts – making it the first product of its kind to reach this milestone in the on-chain Treasury asset space.
Launched in March 2024, BUIDL (short for USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund) is a tokenized money market fund running on Ethereum. It’s designed for institutional investors and holds only short-term, dollar-based assets like U.S. Treasuries, cash, and repos.
Each BUIDL token is pegged 1:1 to the U.S. dollar and is issued through Securitize. Investors receive daily yield, distributed monthly as new tokens sent directly to their wallets. The product promises real-world yield with blockchain-native benefits: instant settlement, 24/7 access, and full transparency.
On December 29, 2025, Securitize announced that BUIDL had distributed over $100 million in dividends since launch. Most of those payouts happened on Ethereum, with smaller amounts distributed on chains like Solana.
The monthly yield has grown steadily throughout the year. By March 2025 alone, the fund was paying over $4 million per month to its holders.
This milestone proves that tokenized securities can scale, deliver meaningful returns, and operate within full compliance. BUIDL has become the market leader among tokenized Treasury products, capturing 34% of a $10B+ RWA (real-world asset) sector by April 2025.
Key advantages include:
It’s the clearest proof yet that real-world finance is moving on-chain.
BUIDL is a collaboration between BlackRock and Securitize. BlackRock seeded the fund with $100M in USDC, and Securitize handles issuance, compliance, and investor onboarding.
The fund is already being integrated into DeFi. Platforms like Ondo Finance use BUIDL as collateral for structured products, and analytics dashboards track fund activity live on-chain.
BlackRock CEO Larry Fink has publicly backed tokenization, calling it “the next generation for markets.” He envisions a future where every stock and bond lives on a unified ledger.
After dominating Ethereum, BUIDL has begun expanding to other chains. With its payout model now validated, expect more integrations across the crypto ecosystem and growing usage in DeFi-native yield strategies.
Institutions have noticed. With consistent returns and transparent mechanics, BUIDL is turning into the benchmark for tokenized Treasuries. Other funds may follow, but BlackRock’s first-mover advantage gives it a solid head start.
Real voices. Real reactions.
