Carbon Browser, the Web3-enabled, privacy-first mobile browser, has launched what it called its âbiggest Android updateâ to date: version 8.5.2. Released on July 25, 2025, this update focuses on improving privacy, performance, and stability, building on the features introduced in previous v8.x versions.
VPN Integration v2.0
This is the biggest feature in the update. Carbon Browser now offers an upgraded decentralized VPN. Itâs built in collaboration with the Anyone protocol. The new VPN improves privacy, supports anonymous browsing, and is easier to use.
Faster Homepage Loading
The homepage now loads faster than before. Carbon optimized the main interface for quicker startup and better responsiveness.
Fixed Browsing Glitch
A glitch affecting general browsing has been resolved. The exact bug wasnât disclosed, but users will notice improved stability.
Staking and Wallet Fixes
Carbon fixed bugs related to $CSIX staking. Wallet issues were also addressed. Users can now perform Web3 swaps, transactions, and storage tasks more smoothly.
Chromium v121 Upgrade
The browser engine is now updated to Chromium v121. This improves security, compatibility, and overall performance.
The CSIX token, which powers Carbon Browserâs Web3 ecosystem, has faced a long bearish trend. After a sharp drop in mid-2023, the token recovered slightly toward the end of 2023 and early 2024. Increased buying pushed prices upward briefly.
However, that rally didnât last. By mid-2024, the token began falling again. The decline continued steadily into 2025. By early 2025, CSIX traded near $0.004, close to its all-time low.
This drop suggests weaker investor confidence, low liquidity, and reduced trading activity. Volume fell compared to early 2023, showing less interest from new buyers.
Key Observations:
Falling highs over time point to a persistent bearish trend. Bulls have failed to regain control.
