Elympics, a blockchain-based gaming infrastructure project, will launch its native token, $ELP, on July 24, 2024. The token generation event (TGE) marks a key step in the project’s development after several months of testnet activity and ecosystem expansion.
Elympics provides infrastructure for developers to build competitive, skill-based multiplayer games. The protocol includes tools for matchmaking, in-game oracles, verified match replays, and cloud-based hosting. All gameplay outcomes are recorded on-chain, with an emphasis on verifiability and transparency.
The platform targets both game developers and players. Developers use the SDK to create games with real-time competition mechanics, while players can stake tokens and enter matches with real-money outcomes.
The $ELP token will serve multiple roles in the ecosystem. It will be used for staking, match entry fees, validator node operation, and protocol governance. According to official statements, $ELP is also intended to support infrastructure access and service payments within the developer toolkit.
Elympics has not yet published a full tokenomics breakdown, but the TGE will introduce the token into circulation. Further details on listing venues, supply schedule, and distribution are expected around the launch date.
In 2024, Elympics has integrated support for EVM-compatible blockchains and the TON blockchain. The TON integration enables developers to build games for Telegram’s mini-app ecosystem, targeting its reported 900 million active users.
An incentivized public testnet launched in June 2024, allowing early users to trial the platform’s features in a simulated environment. The SDK supports Unity-based game development, and infrastructure is designed to run deterministically across blockchain-based and centralized clients.
Following the token launch, Elympics will host a development-focused hackathon titled GameCamp Arena, running from July 29 to September 8, in partnership with the TON Foundation. The event will focus on building mini-games using Elympics tools and the TON tech stack.
The company has not announced specific partnerships with game studios but has stated that its priority post-launch is developer onboarding and ecosystem growth.
