GEODNET partners with BPCL to deploy decentralized navigation miners across India, powering centimeter-level precision for drones and smart cities.

October 15, 2025 – In a move that fuses Web3 innovation with national infrastructure, GEODNET has announced a landmark partnership with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to deploy decentralized navigation miners across India’s petrol stations. The collaboration, revealed on October 14, aims to deliver centimeter-level accuracy for Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) data, ushering in a new phase of precision mapping for drones, autonomous vehicles, and agriculture.
GEODNET, a global Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN), crowdsources geospatial data through compact, solar-powered miners. These devices convert physical locations into digital base stations that broadcast ultra-accurate RTK data.
Through this partnership, GEODNET miners will be deployed at BPCL’s 18,000 retail outlets nationwide. As a result, rural and urban India will gain continuous, low-latency coverage, reducing GNSS blind spots common in dense cities or during monsoons. “We’re not just fueling vehicles; we’re fueling India’s location intelligence revolution,” GEODNET declared in its announcement video, which quickly amassed thousands of views on X.
BPCL, one of India’s largest Fortune Global 500 companies, brings scale and trust to the collaboration. Its refineries in Mumbai, Kochi, and Bina produce over 35 million metric tonnes annually, serving 80 million customers every day. Recently, BPCL has embraced green innovation—signing deals with Eco Wave Power for wave energy and GPS Renewables for biogas projects. Consequently, its alliance with GEODNET strengthens its Net Zero 2040 strategy by merging clean energy with digital infrastructure.
For GEODNET, the partnership provides access to prime vantage points across India. Each station becomes a geospatial data node, improving drone navigation, agrotech precision, and autonomous mobility. In agriculture, for instance, real-time data could enhance irrigation accuracy and reduce water waste by up to 30%. Similarly, logistics and delivery drones from Swiggy or Amazon India gain reliable mapping data for complex routes.

Industry analysts expect this collaboration to challenge established players like Trimble, as GEODNET’s decentralized model drastically lowers costs through tokenized incentives. Moreover, India’s rapid adoption of EVs, drones, and AI logistics makes it fertile ground for scalable, decentralized mapping. Early pilots in Mumbai and Delhi have already reported 99% uptime, signaling readiness for nationwide expansion in 2026.
Of course, privacy remains a concern. Yet, GEODNET has emphasized that all data feeds are anonymized and blockchain-verified, ensuring security and transparency. Inflection Point Ventures, tagged in the announcement, is reportedly exploring additional funding to accelerate deployment.
As India moves toward a projected $50 billion location-tech market by 2030, this alliance represents more than infrastructure, it’s a convergence of energy, innovation, and national progress. With over 10,000 active GEODNET nodes worldwide, the country could soon become the project’s Asian command center.
