November 20, 2025 — Injective has launched the Injective Community BuyBack Program, enabling users to burn $INJ while earning a share of on-chain revenue. This upgrade introduces a new tokenomics model combining community-driven burns with real economic rewards.
Injective has launched the Injective Community BuyBack Program, allowing users to directly burn $INJ and simultaneously earn revenue generated across the network. Announced on November 19, the initiative introduces a new burn model where participants receive a portion of Injective’s on-chain earnings primarily sourced from trading activity and protocol fees.
The program is now live via the Injective Hub with no stated end date, encouraging ongoing participation.
The BuyBack mechanism allows users to access designated slots on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a slot is secured, participants can contribute to token burns while earning revenue flows tied to network usage.
This “burn-and-earn” structure reduces circulating supply while ensuring that community members who support the mechanism share in the protocol’s economic output, creating a sustainable incentive loop.
The system is designed to reward active engagement over passive holding, forming a new tokenomics foundation for the $INJ ecosystem.
The program represents a structural shift in Injective’s economic model, aligning token scarcity with real value capture. By tying token burns directly to platform revenue, Injective strengthens the economic foundation for its DeFi-focused Layer 1, making $INJ scarcity functionally linked to network activity.
For developers, this introduces predictable and transparent token economics that can support long-term dApp design, especially within derivatives, liquidity markets, and institutional environments.
The model also enhances Injective’s competitive edge against other L1s that rely on inflationary subsidies or discretionary burn events. This revenue-sharing burn approach positions Injective as one of the few chains where token value is reinforced by actual usage rather than speculative emissions.
Real voices. Real reactions.
@injective burning and earning at the same time hits different, not gonna lie, curious how the hub handles rewards and distribution
@injective Burn to earn? Only in crypto.
@injective Do you earn rewards by being active during the burn or what?
