July 15, 2025 – Pudgy Penguins has announced a major strategic partnership with Suplay Inc., one of China’s leading collectibles firms, to launch Pudgy-themed physical merchandise across Asia. The partnership marks a significant expansion for the Solana-based NFT IP, positioning it to tap into a $30 billion regional collectibles market.
Revealed via a teaser post on X, the deal grants Suplay exclusive global licensing rights to produce Pudgy Penguins-themed trading cards and blind box collectibles—products that blend the project’s digital identity with tangible goods.
Founded in 2019, Suplay Inc. is a licensed pop culture powerhouse with brands like Kakawow (trading cards) and HeyDolls (toys). It has previously worked with global IPs such as Disney, Harry Potter, and Marvel. Backed by a $10 million Series A round, Suplay operates both online and retail stores across China.
This Pudgy partnership aims to replicate the success of collectibles like Labubu, with a clear goal: combine Suplay’s distribution muscle with Pudgy Penguins’ viral Web3 brand. Physical products will be distributed throughout Asia, creating a two-way bridge between NFT culture and traditional toy ecosystems.
The teaser image featured the Pudgy Penguin silhouette with the phrase “Coming Soon,” signaling that official product drops are imminent.
The announcement triggered a sharp rally in $PENGU, Pudgy Penguins’ native token on Solana. Within hours, $PENGU rose over 18%, reaching $0.033, with daily trading volume crossing $2 billion. Analysts cited investor optimism around Pudgy’s pivot from digital NFTs to real-world brand IP as a core reason for the bullish response.
Despite overbought RSI signals, the project is gaining momentum, with some traders speculating that Pudgy Penguins could emerge as a leading meme coin brand alongside $DOGE and $PEPE.
The Suplay deal is the latest in a growing list of retail and media partnerships for Pudgy Penguins since its acquisition by Igloo Inc. in 2022. Other major deals include:
The brand is also developing a mobile game, expanding digital storytelling, and rolling out experiential marketing campaigns aimed at mainstream family audiences.
While the community awaits full product details, including release timelines and pricing, the Suplay partnership reflects a broader trend: NFT-native projects maturing into consumer-facing brands. Pudgy Penguins is using IP, retail partnerships, and strategic licensing to convert digital memes into physical products—and investors are paying close attention.
With more updates expected soon, Pudgy’s move into Asia could mark a turning point in how Web3 projects approach global adoption.
