Story Protocol Event Grants Season 2 invites global creators to join the Surreal World Assets buildathon, blending IP, AI, and RWAs

October 12, 2025 Story Protocol has launched Season 2 of its Event Grants program, expanding its global push to tokenize the $80 trillion IP economy. The initiative invites creators and developers to pitch community-driven events linked to the Surreal World Assets Buildathon. Its a global contest redefining how creativity, data, and finance intersect on-chain.
Backed by Pantera Capital, OKX Ventures, and Polychain Capital, Story’s event program acts as both a grassroots incubator. It is also a strategic accelerator for Web3-native IP ownership. With its native $IP token recently soaring past a $1.8B market cap, Story is rapidly cementing itself as the backbone of programmable creativity in the AI age.
Central to Season 2 is the Surreal World Assets Buildathon, a free-to-enter virtual competition hosted with Encode Club. The challenge unites developers, artists, and innovators to prototype Web3 products that fuse IP tokenization with real-world value flows — from AI remixing tools to royalty-embedded smart contracts and RWA-backed NFTs.
The $57,000 prize pool spans technical, conceptual, and collaborative categories. “This isn’t just coding — it’s reimagining how ideas become enforceable, remixable assets,” a Story spokesperson shared. Already, over 200 teams are testing prototypes, including AI-native licensing tools and tokenized content archives.
Season 1’s success was undeniable: 20+ countries hosted Story-backed hackathons, panels, and workshops, spawning 20 million+ registered IP assets and thousands of new builder accounts. From Seoul to São Paulo, creators explored Story’s Proof-of-Creativity Protocol, which timestamps IP origin and enforces usage rights through smart contracts.
This approach is resonating globally amid the rise of AI training data conflicts and ownership disputes. Story’s system ensures that creators retain monetization power even as their content is remixed or repurposed by others.
Participation in Season 2 is open globally. Applicants submit a short proposal outlining their event type—hackathon, panel, or showcase—and its contribution to IP and RWA innovation. Approved organizers receive direct funding for logistics, marketing, and prizes, ensuring equitable access across communities.
Story’s social channels are already buzzing with ideas—from VR IP expos in India to AI ethics roundtables in Africa—all united under the “Surreal Future” banner. As one participant wrote, “Pitch an event, get funded—it’s that simple.”
Far from a grant campaign, Story’s initiative signals a new economic model for imagination—one where AI and IP co-evolve on-chain, ensuring creators, not corporations, capture value. With RWAs now integrated into its buildathon ecosystem, Story stands at the frontier of merging financial primitives and creative provenance.
