In its latest quarterly update, the Zano team detailed numerous advancements, spanning core features, platform integrations, and critical fixes. This period has been particularly busy for Zano, with the team balancing multiple projects and making strides across the ecosystem.
1. Ethereum-Signed Asset Ownership
The team integrated support for third-party Ethereum-signed asset ownership, broadening functionality for asset creators and users. This feature has been added to the core with automated testing and full compatibility with the RPC API. Extensive testnet testing was also conducted to ensure smooth deployment.
2. Wallet and Daemon Enhancements
Recent updates include wallet and daemon RPC improvements. The deploy_asset
and emit_asset
functions now split asset amounts into 10 outputs by default for simplified asset handling. A new daemon RPC, find_outs_in_recent_blocks
, assists in tracking recent outputs for any address and view key, a tool that could be particularly valuable for real-time monitoring.
3. Boost Version Upgrade
Following thorough testing, the Boost library was upgraded to version 1.84. This update improves both compatibility and performance, further streamlining the user experience.
4. Wallet Structure and New Tools
To enhance wallet usability, the team overhauled the wallet structure, reducing file size to support better performance on mobile devices. The team also introduced a “seed doctor” tool, designed to assist users in recovering corrupted seed phrases, thereby expanding wallet recovery options.
5. Hardfork 5 Testing
Hardfork 5 is officially in its testing phase on the testnet, with rigorous checks underway to ensure a smooth release. The team has also introduced a minimum build number requirement tied to the hardfork number, designed to make future transitions smoother for users.
A significant portion of Zano’s efforts this quarter has been focused on external integrations, with partnerships enabling Zano’s functionality on new platforms like Cake Wallet and Bitcoin.com, as well as decentralized bridging solutions through Confidential Layer.
The upcoming Hardfork 5 release and the anticipated launch of several platforms in Q4 promise exciting developments for the Zano community. The team is focused on advancing security, enhancing the user experience, and continuing to expand accessibility through ongoing integrations and new partnerships.
Stay tuned for more updates, as Zano continues to drive forward with these projects and enhancements, setting the stage for future growth within the ecosystem.
