Rocket Pool is a decentralized Ethereum staking protocol that allows anyone to participate in Ethereum staking in a trustless, permissionless, and non-custodial way. It provides a platform where users can either stake ETH directly with as little as 0.01 ETH or run their own mini staking nodes with just 8 ETH. By leveraging Ethereum’s proof-of-stake model and combining it with smart contracts and decentralized node operators, Rocket Pool democratizes ETH staking and increases network decentralization.
Rocket Pool was created to solve the accessibility and centralization problems of Ethereum staking. Traditionally, staking on Ethereum requires a minimum of 32 ETH and some technical knowledge to run and maintain a validator node. This high barrier to entry excludes many retail users and leads to reliance on large, centralized staking providers—introducing risks to Ethereum’s decentralization and censorship resistance. Rocket Pool was built to lower these barriers and decentralize the staking layer through trustless smart contracts and a distributed network of node operators.
$RPL is Rocket Pool’s native utility token. It is used as collateral by node operators, enhances reward distribution, and plays a key role in governance. By staking RPL, node operators gain access to the network and can boost their staking rewards.
Released beta versions (V1–V3) to test its decentralized ETH staking platform.
