Canton Network is a privacy-first, institutional-grade blockchain network designed to enable secure interoperability between regulated financial institutions. It allows banks, asset managers, exchanges, and market infrastructure providers to transact and share data on-chain while preserving confidentiality, compliance, and operational control.
Unlike public blockchains that expose transaction data by default, Canton Network is built specifically for real-world financial use cases. It supports synchronized workflows, granular privacy controls, and regulatory alignment across multiple applications and participants.
Traditional financial markets rely on fragmented systems where data, assets, and workflows are siloed across institutions. This fragmentation leads to slow settlement times, costly reconciliation, and increased operational risk.
Canton Network was created to solve these inefficiencies by enabling institutions to coordinate shared processes on a common blockchain network without exposing sensitive information. It addresses key limitations of existing systems, including lack of interoperability, insufficient privacy controls, and difficulty meeting regulatory requirements.
Canton Network does not currently operate with a native public token. The network is designed for institutional adoption rather than token-based incentives. Access, fees, governance, and participation are handled through permissioned frameworks and contractual agreements instead of a universal utility token.
This token-agnostic design reduces regulatory complexity and aligns with the operational needs of regulated financial institutions. Applications built on Canton Network may introduce their own digital assets, but the core network itself does not rely on a shared $TOKEN.
