Aave, decentralized financeās largest lending protocol, has officially launched on the Aptos blockchain, marking its first deployment on a non-EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) network. The expansion underscores Aaveās long-term multichain strategy and positions the protocol to capture new user bases beyond Ethereum-compatible chains.
At launch, Aave supports USDC, USDT, APT, and sUSDe on Aptos. Liquidity incentives and user rewards will be distributed by the Aptos Foundation to accelerate adoption, while Chainlink Price Feeds secure the lending markets with reliable onchain oracles.
Governed by the Aave DAO, the protocol currently boasts over $50 billion in net deposits and nearly $37 billion in TVL, making it DeFiās second-largest platform. Aave lets users earn yield on deposits, borrow against collateral, and mint the decentralized stablecoin GHO.
Aptos, launched in 2022 by former Meta engineers, is a high-performance Layer 1 chain that leverages the Move programming language for parallel transaction processing. It markets itself as infrastructure for consumer apps, digital finance, stablecoins, and RWAs (real-world assets), with backing from major venture firms and partnerships with institutions.
Adding Aave is expected to act as a liquidity engine for Aptos, with historical patterns showing chains that integrate Aave often experience accelerated TVL growth. This comes at a critical moment, as Aptos has faced declining user activity over the past year.
The Aptos deployment sets the stage for further multichain expansion by Aave DAO, which has already deployed across Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche, and Optimism. Aptos now represents its first foray into non-EVM ecosystems, potentially opening doors to additional integrations with other Move-based blockchains.
Community observers see this as a major vote of confidence in Aptosā ecosystem. If adoption grows, Aave could help revitalize activity on the network while expanding its footprint as a universal liquidity layer across the multichain world.
