Bitcoin.com, one of the largest self-custody cryptocurrency platforms, has officially integrated Zano ($ZANO) into its wallet, making it easier for users to store, send, and receive the privacy-focused cryptocurrency. With over 1 million active monthly users and more than 55 million registered wallets, the integration represents a significant expansion for Zano’s ecosystem.
Bitcoin.com’s support for Zano allows users to manage their ZANO holdings alongside major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Avalanche (AVAX), and Polygon (MATIC). The integration aligns with Bitcoin.com’s broader goal of providing privacy-first financial tools to its global user base.
Zano, a layer-1 blockchain designed for confidential assets and private decentralized applications (dApps), has been in development since 2019. Founded by Andrey Sabelnikov, a key developer behind the CryptoNote protocol used in Monero, Zano aims to offer users private and untraceable transactions.
The collaboration between Bitcoin.com and Zano comes amid growing concerns over financial privacy in the cryptocurrency space. Corbin Fraser, CEO of Bitcoin.com, emphasized the significance of privacy in digital finance:
“Financial transactions are deeply personal, and in a world where financial surveillance is increasing, privacy should not be optional—it should be standard. The integration of Zano into the Bitcoin.com Wallet app represents a significant step toward making privacy mainstream.”
Bitcoin.com has indicated that the integration of Zano’s Confidential Assets technology may be the next step. This would enable users to convert mainstream cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum into fully private assets by bridging them onto the Zano blockchain. The move would further enhance privacy within the Bitcoin.com ecosystem while maintaining accessibility for users unfamiliar with advanced cryptographic tools.
Zano’s Head of Marketing & Growth, Quinten van Welzen, highlighted the long-term vision for privacy-first finance:
“Privacy should not be a niche feature—it should be the foundation of modern finance. By bringing Zano to the Bitcoin.com ecosystem, we’re making privacy-first crypto transactions a viable and accessible option for everyone.”
The addition of Zano follows its successful launch on Bitcoin.com’s Verse DEX, where users have been able to trade wrapped ZANO (wZANO) and participate in liquidity farming. The latest Bitcoin.com Wallet update (v8.65 and up) now enables direct self-custody of ZANO within one of the most widely used crypto wallets.
As regulatory scrutiny over public blockchain transactions increases, solutions like Zano’s Confidential Assets could offer a middle ground for users seeking both financial autonomy and security. Bitcoin.com’s decision to integrate Zano reflects a broader industry trend toward enhancing privacy options while maintaining usability for mainstream adoption.
