September 6, 2025 – Chainlink Data Streams are now live on Sei Network, marking a major milestone for both ecosystems. The Sei Development Foundation and Chainlink Labs confirmed the integration on September 5, positioning Chainlink as the preferred oracle infrastructure for Sei’s $1.2 billion DeFi ecosystem.
The launch delivers institutional-grade, ultra-low-latency data, including U.S. government macroeconomic statistics, directly to Sei’s high-performance Layer 1, enabling faster, more secure digital asset markets.
The integration arrives as institutional adoption of blockchain accelerates. Chainlink Data Streams, which already secure trillions in onchain value, will now supply Sei with sub-second data delivery, liquidity-weighted bid-ask spreads, and reliable proof-of-reserve functionality.
Adding weight to the rollout, Chainlink’s recent partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce means official economic data, such as GDP and PCE Price Index, will flow directly into Sei’s onchain markets. This convergence of government-verified data with blockchain infrastructure is seen as a turning point for financial applications.
Justin Barlow, Executive Director at the Sei Development Foundation, called Data Streams the “obvious choice” for the ecosystem, citing its ultra-low-latency delivery and battle-tested infrastructure.
Thodoris Karakostas, Director of Blockchain Partnerships at Chainlink Labs, added that the move “expands Chainlink’s footprint into a fast-growing ecosystem that supports next-gen DeFi protocols and institutional use cases.”
With Chainlink Data Streams integrated, developers on Sei can now build:
The combination of Sei’s sub-second finality and Chainlink’s proven oracle infrastructure sets the foundation for a new generation of financial applications.
Analysts expect the integration to boost Sei’s profile in the Layer 1 race. With over 60 million wallets and EVM compatibility, Sei is already one of the busiest networks. Adding Chainlink’s data infrastructure could accelerate adoption in gaming, DeFi, and tokenized assets.
For Chainlink, the move demonstrates growing dominance in the institutional data space, strengthening its position as the global standard for oracles.
Real voices. Real reactions.
