Coinbase Named to TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies List

Coinbase has earned a spot on TIME’s 100 Most Influential Companies of 2025, recognized as a “disruptor” for its policy leadership and growing influence in U.S. crypto regulation. This comes just days after the Coinbase stock hit a new all time high.

The company gained national attention throughout 2024 for spearheading crypto policy advocacy. TIME highlighted Coinbase’s central role in Washington, noting that if pro-crypto legislation advances, the exchange could cement itself as a key hub for U.S. digital asset activity.

Stock Surges on Regulatory Momentum

Coinbase’s stock has surged nearly 42% year-to-date. The rally intensified after the U.S. Senate passed the GENIUS stablecoin bill on June 17. Following the announcement, Coinbase shares jumped from around $303 to a new all time high.

In May, Coinbase became the first crypto-related company added to the S&P 500, solidifying its position as a bellwether for the digital asset sector in North America.

Coinbase is reportedly seeking SEC approval to offer tokenized equities, a move that would bring it into direct competition with platforms like Robinhood and WeBull. If successful, it would broaden Coinbase’s services beyond crypto and into traditional finance, offering tokenized stock trading alongside digital assets.

Coinbase Secures EU MiCA License

On June 20, Coinbase announced it had secured a MiCA license from Luxembourg’s financial regulator, allowing it to offer digital asset services across the European Union. The firm will also establish its EU headquarters in Luxembourg, further expanding its international footprint.

The license comes under the EU’s new Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, which standardizes crypto regulations across member states. Coinbase joins other major exchanges like Kraken and OKX in receiving MiCA approval in 2025.

Endorsement from President Trump

At the State of Crypto Summit in June, President Donald Trump addressed Coinbase and the broader crypto community via a pre-recorded message. He pledged to create “clear and simple” market frameworks to ensure the U.S. leads in Bitcoin and digital assets.

“We will be working to create clear and simple market frameworks that will allow America to dominate the future of crypto and Bitcoin,” said Trump.
