Conor McGregor Calls for Irish Bitcoin Strategic Reserve: “Victory to Ireland!”

Conor McGregor, the famed UFC champion known for his bold moves inside and outside the octagon, is now setting his sights on something much bigger: an Irish Bitcoin Strategic Reserve. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), McGregor declared his support for a national Bitcoin reserve, stating, “Crypto in its origin was founded to give power back to the people. An Irish Bitcoin strategic reserve will give power to the people’s money.”

A New Chapter for McGregor in Crypto

McGregor’s call for a Bitcoin reserve is not his first foray into the world of digital assets. Earlier this year, he ventured into the space with his own cryptocurrency project, a memecoin called $REAL. Despite McGregor’s massive global following, the launch fell short of expectations, raising just under $400,000 from around 668 investors—well below its $1 million goal. The project was eventually scrapped, and all funds were refunded to investors.

The setback, however, seems to have only sharpened McGregor’s resolve to make an impact in the crypto world. His recent call for a national Bitcoin reserve suggests he sees digital assets as more than just a passing trend—it’s a cornerstone for financial sovereignty.

Why a Bitcoin Reserve?

McGregor’s idea is rooted in the belief that Bitcoin represents financial empowerment. He envisions a reserve that strengthens Ireland’s financial independence, giving people more control over their money in a rapidly digitalizing world. It’s an ambitious vision, but it’s not entirely far-fetched. Other nations, like El Salvador, have already established Bitcoin reserves, betting on the cryptocurrency’s long-term value and resistance to inflation.
