Consensys, the Ethereum software developer firm that built the MetaMask wallet, announced the launch of a âMetaMask Delegation Toolkitâ to enhance the user experience of blockchain applications. The announcement was made at the Ethereum Community Conference (EthCC) in Brussels, Belgium, where the company plans to begin onboarding developers to use its new product.
The Delegation Toolkit will enable instant user onboarding without the need for a traditional wallet, eliminating user friction such as pop-ups or confirmations when switching between a decentralized application and wallet. Additionally, Consensys stated that the toolkit aims to simplify smart contract development and allow developers to reassign gas costs to others, making it possible for certain individuals to avoid paying fees.
The Delegation Toolkit will be compatible with any Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chain, including Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Linea, Optimism, and Polygon. Dan Finlay, co-founder of MetaMask, highlighted that this toolkit will enable seamless onboarding and foster dynamic, collaborative experiences through a new paradigm of authorization and composability.
