Ether.fi Joins HyperLiquid Ecosystem With New ‘beHYPE’ Liquid Staking Token

July 19, 2025 — Ether.fi, a leading player in Ethereum liquid restaking, is expanding into the HyperLiquid ecosystem through a new partnership with DeFi protocol HyperBeat.

Together, they will introduce a new liquid staking token called beHYPE, beginning with an early-access vault named preHYPE.

preHYPE Vault to Enable Early Deposits

The preHYPE vault marks the first phase of Ether.fi’s entry into the HyperLiquid ecosystem. This vault is secured through a multisig setup and allows users to make early deposits ahead of the full beHYPE rollout. Users staking early will gain exposure to initial rewards while Ether.fi finalizes its full smart contract infrastructure.

HyperBeat to Power Yield and Integration

HyperBeat, a native DeFi protocol within the HyperLiquid ecosystem, will be responsible for integrating the staking system and building yield strategies. The collaboration combines Ether.fi’s robust security and staking infrastructure with HyperBeat’s in-house DeFi expertise.

Smart Contract Transition Planned in Six Weeks

While preHYPE will launch with multisig security, the team confirmed that a full migration to smart contract-based architecture will occur within six weeks. This ensures long-term decentralization while giving early users a secure interim option.

Incentives Through “Hearts” and Boosted Yields

Participants in the preHYPE vault will earn competitive staking returns, enhanced by “hearts” incentive points tied to HyperBeat’s pre-token generation event. These rewards aim to bootstrap liquidity and build momentum as the HyperLiquid ecosystem continues expanding.

The move comes as the broader HyperLiquid ecosystem gains traction, especially with HyperEVM. Since launching its mainnet in February, HyperEVM has seen its total value locked (TVL) surge past $2 billion.
