Speculation is growing around the possible launch of Monad’s mainnet, with community members predicting the mainnet could go live on September 29 or 30, 2025. This comes amid continued progress in Monad’s testnet, though the official timeline remains unconfirmed by Monad Labs.
The rumors began circulating following a post on X (formerly Twitter) by @monad_insiders on July 12, 2025, listing a potential Token Generation Event (TGE) for Monad on September 21, 2025, alongside other projects like MegaETH on September 29. Another influential X post by @kenobi_mon added to the buzz, claiming a “99.9% certainty” of a mid-September launch. While these posts sparked discussion, no official confirmation has been issued by Monad Labs.
Monad Labs posted an image on X on 25th July, teasing that only one out of the speculated details in the image was correct.
Monad’s public testnet, launched on February 19, 2025, has been progressing well, processing over 1 billion transactions by April 2025 and achieving 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) during tests. The success of Testnet-2, which began in late May 2025 and focused on validator readiness, further fuelled speculation that the mainnet could launch in September. With Testnet-2 set to end in early August, many in the community believe that a mainnet launch soon after is plausible.
The excitement surrounding Monad is further heightened by its $244 million funding round, support from key players such as LayerZero, Wormhole, and Pyth Network, and the anticipation of its $MON token launch. However, while the community eagerly awaits the launch, it is advised that users remain cautious about unverified token sales or scams. The ecosystem is ready for the mainnet’s arrival, with over 100 projects already integrated into the testnet, but the official launch date remains unclear.
In conclusion, while the speculation surrounding Monad’s mainnet launch date continues to build, investors and enthusiasts will have to wait for an official announcement from Monad Labs to confirm any concrete details. For now, all eyes are on the progress of Testnet-2 and the potential release of $MON tokens.
