28th October 2025 – The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has approved Bitwise’s proposal to list its Solana Staking ETF on NYSE Arca. While this marks a major step toward expanding cryptocurrency investment into traditional finance, after getting the final approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). If cleared, this will be one of the first staking-enabled altcoin ETFs available to retail investors.
Bitwise, one of the largest crypto asset managers, is positioning its Solana Staking ETF as a gateway to blockchain rewards through a familiar financial product. Instead of requiring users to purchase and stake SOL tokens themselves, the ETF will offer exposure to Solana’s staking yields in a fully compliant wrapper.
This development could significantly lower the barrier for institutional and retail investors alike. With more traditional capital entering blockchain-linked products, Bitwise aims to tap into Solana’s growing ecosystem without the friction of direct token custody.
The confirmation of both Bitwise’s Solana ETF and Canary Capital’s Solana and HBAR ETFs has added momentum to what many see as the next frontier for crypto markets. These launches, now scheduled for October 29, have been surrounded by uncertainty due to macroeconomic instability and the ongoing U.S. government shutdown, which has disrupted regulatory clarity.
Despite the news, SOL’s price has remained relatively flat, with some analysts pointing to market skepticism. Unresolved doubts over ETF approvals and a broader risk-off sentiment have likely tempered any immediate price rally.

The ETF approval highlights a growing appetite from Wall Street for high-performance blockchain platforms. NYSE Arca’s move to list the product signals an intent to bridge crypto and equities more directly. By allowing staking within an ETF, the offering pushes traditional finance closer to native blockchain mechanisms.
Looking ahead, the success of these ETFs could pave the way for a broader altcoin ETF market. Institutional flows may continue to expand as regulators gradually adapt to new crypto-native features like staking and multi-chain exposure.
