THORChain v3.8.0 Goes Live with Solana Integration in Sight

THORChain has launched version v3.8.0, introducing support for new chains, expanding its App Layer ecosystem, and delivering critical infrastructure upgrades. With over 30 merge requests, the release reflects the network’s fast development pace and growing DeFi utility.

New Chain Integrations

THORChain is preparing for a major expansion with the integration of EDDSA-based chains and TRON:

• EDDSA Support Added: This upgrade lays the groundwork for integrating Solana, TON, and Cardano (ADA). Final testing for Solana is in progress, with the launch targeted for August.
• TRON Integration: TRON support has been merged, with activation expected in the coming weeks. This brings THORChain access to one of the largest stablecoin ecosystems.

App Layer Expansions

THORChain’s App Layer continues to grow with new protocols and tokenized functionality:

• DAO DAO and AutoRujira Approved: Both protocols are now authorized to deploy on THORChain. DAO DAO can proceed with its launch, and AutoRujira is now live on the App Layer.
• Secured Asset Deposits & Withdrawals: Users can now interact with liquidity pools using secured assets. Instead of native tokens, deposits are made by burning secured assets, and withdrawals are done via minting. This enables tokenized LP positions.
• NAMI Index Enabled: Permissions were added for yRUNE and yTCY, activating the Nami Index protocol.

Technical Improvements

v3.8.0 includes several backend enhancements for security, flexibility, and UX:

• Bond Wallet Migration: Node operators can safely migrate bonded wallets without interrupting validator uptime.
