This move builds on TRON’s broader effort to strengthen its DeFi infrastructure. In October 2024, TRON DAO joined the Chainlink Scale program, which laid the groundwork for deeper oracle integration. Subsequently, by May 2025, TRON completed a full transition to Chainlink Data Feeds and ended its reliance on WINkLink.
As a result, the network secured more than $5.5 billion in DeFi TVL across major protocols such as JustLend and JustStable. During this period, USDD already benefited from improved oracle quality at the ecosystem level. However, the January 2026 update takes this strategy further by designating Chainlink as the sole pricing source for USDD across multiple blockchains.
Importantly, this announcement does not introduce a new partnership. Instead, it deepens an existing relationship that already proved effective. When TRON completed its oracle upgrade in 2025, DeFi activity increased while USDD maintained a stable peg near $1.00. Since then, liquidity and adoption have continued to grow, enabling USDD to surpass $1 billion in TVL in early 2026.
