Axie Infinity Completes ERC-1155 Accessory Migration

April 23, 2025 – Axie Infinity has officially completed the migration of its accessories from the ERC-721 smart contract to the ERC-1155 smart contract. This marks a significant milestone in the game’s evolution, as the change paves the way for more frequent accessory drops and enhanced customization options for players.

Why the Migration?

Earlier this month, Axie Infinity announced plans to move its accessories from the ERC-721 smart contract, which had been limiting flexibility and functionality. The migration to ERC-1155 provides more flexibility, enabling the platform to offer a wider range of customization options for Axie accessories, as well as more frequent accessory drops to enhance the in-game experience.

What Does This Mean for Players?

With the migration now complete, ERC-721 accessory holders have received an equivalent ERC-1155 accessory for every accessory they previously held. This means that all players who were eligible based on the previous snapshot can now trade and equip their new ERC-1155 accessories on the Axie platform via App.axie.

Additionally, while deprecated ERC-721 accessories will still appear in your Ronin Wallet, they are no longer functional for trade or equipping within the game.

What’s Next for Players?

As part of the migration process, all accessories were unequipped, meaning players will need to re-equip their accessories on their Axies. This change will allow players to fully experience the new customization options available with the ERC-1155 accessories.
