SingularityNET Launches Filecoin Integration with Lighthouse for Decentralized AI Storage

SingularityNET, the decentralized AI platform, announced its integration of Filecoin using Lighthouse, marking the first phase in a broader effort to secure decentralized storage solutions for AI development. This initiative, in partnership with Filecoin Foundation, brings added storage transparency and resilience to the platform as part of a commitment to open and democratic artificial intelligence.

In July 2024, SingularityNET and Filecoin Foundation confirmed a partnership aimed at aligning AI and DePIN (decentralized physical infrastructure network) goals. Both organizations, alongside data onboarding provider Lighthouse, have worked together to incorporate Filecoin’s permanent storage capabilities within SingularityNET’s AI tools. As a founding member of the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) Alliance, SingularityNET views this partnership as essential for promoting decentralized AI, an ethical and accessible model for developing Artificial General Intelligence (AGI).

Milestone Integration with Filecoin

This first integration stage brings Python SDK, Command Line Interface (CLI), and Daemon into SingularityNET’s ecosystem, with plans to expand support to JavaScript SDK, Text User Interface (TUI), Publisher Portal, and Marketplace in the coming months. Lighthouse’s storage infrastructure, built on Filecoin and IPFS, offers decentralized data permanence tailored to SingularityNET’s need for scalability, cost-effectiveness, and security.

Lighthouse offers flexible, pay-per-use pricing, enabling SingularityNET users to purchase storage subscriptions directly on Filecoin. Once integrated, users will be able to leverage Filecoin’s decentralized storage model for metadata and service files, supporting a range of applications and services within the AI ecosystem.

SingularityNET will demonstrate these new capabilities for the community, detailing usage of Filecoin’s decentralized storage alongside its existing IPFS infrastructure.
