BounceBit to Unlock 44-49 Million $BB Tokens On Sept 11

BounceBit is preparing to unlock between 44 and 49 million $BB tokens between September 11–13, 2025. This unlock is part of the project’s ongoing investor vesting schedule. At current prices, the tokens are worth between $6 and $7 million.

Although common in crypto, token unlocks often create short-term market turbulence. $BB is currently trading between $0.133 and $0.15, putting it at a sensitive range ahead of the unlock.

The September $BB Unlock

The unlocked tokens come from BounceBit’s 21% investor allocation. These tokens have been vesting linearly since the mainnet launch in June 2024. Team and advisor tokens won’t unlock in this round. Their allocations are tied to longer vesting plans.

After this unlock, the circulating supply will increase to roughly 675–790 million BB. This accounts for 32–37% of the total 2.1 billion BB supply.

Will It Affect Price?

Historically, large unlocks create 5–15% dips, especially when early investors sell. $BB already shows signs of weakness. Its RSI is near 44, and it’s struggling to break past resistance at $0.142.

That said, several factors could reduce the downside:

• Buybacks are active. BounceBit already repurchased over 5 million BB tokens. It plans to buy back $16M+ worth annually using protocol revenue.
• Staking locks up supply. Around 30% of BB is staked, reducing liquid tokens.
• Strong fundamentals support confidence. BounceBit continues to grow its institutional DeFi ecosystem and real-world asset integrations.

BounceBit’s Growth Story

BounceBit is a Bitcoin restaking Layer 1 chain. It operates using a dual-token Proof-of-Stake system. Specifically, $BB is staked alongside BTC to secure the network. In addition, the token functions as gas for transactions, a governance tool, and a form of collateral within the ecosystem.

Currently, the platform’s total value locked (TVL) has surpassed $287 million. Moreover, it has introduced several new features, including on-chain Treasuries, tokenized funds, and structured yield products. Notably, BounceBit Prime is designed for institutions seeking compliant, high-yield opportunities in decentralized finance.

Looking ahead, the project shows no signs of slowing down. In Q4 2025, BounceBit plans to roll out tokenized equities, credit markets, and further integrations with real-world assets (RWAs). These additions aim to strengthen its position in the growing tokenized finance sector.

Should Traders Worry?

Among major projects this week, the $BB unlock is the largest. Furthermore, it marks BounceBit’s most significant token event since June. Adding to the concern, the token has already declined by approximately 85% from its all-time high.

Given these factors, caution is certainly warranted. However, if the project continues its current growth trajectory, the long-term outlook may remain intact.
